TTB recently received our first grant request from a Twin Cities man who completed a treatment program and now has achieved 8 months of sobriety. That’s a great achievement! His next step includes enrolling in Augsburg Colleges’ StepUP program.

The StepUP program at Augsburg College strives to help students champion lives of recovery, achieve academic success, and thrive in a residential community of accountability and support. The culture of StepUP is shaped by its values, which heavily emphasize recovery based on spirituality and the 12-step model. The students find personal responsibility, integrity, and the living of a balanced life to be invaluable lifestyle qualities. Educational success is also strongly supported and encouraged, along with giving back through servant leadership. Students frequently find themselves thriving in a community that is an alcohol and drug-free environment; which further encourages the development of healthy minds, bodies, spirits, and emotions.

As a result of this individuals success and goal to continue their education, TTB has provided a $500 grant for the ’13-’14 school year. This grant will be submitted directly to Augsburg on behalf of the individual who made the request.

In exchange, TTB has requested an opportunity to speak to the sober community that Augsburg supports. We’re excited to help the StepUp program, and can’t wait share our stories with the students at Augsburg!
